Kent Hehr, MLA
Kent is the first-term provincial representative for downtown Calgary. He's a well-known personality in Calgary, named one of the 20 most compelling Calgarians to watch in 2008 by the Calgary Herald, one of the Top 40 under 40 by Calgary Inc. Magazine in 2006, and the Graduate of the Last Decade by the University of Calgary Alumni Association in 2005.
Before entering politics, Kent was a lawyer at Fraser Milner Casgrain, a national law firm. He built his reputation as a community leader through public service with a wide variety of organizations including the Downtown West Community Association, the United Way of Calgary, the Canadian Paraplegic Association, and the City of Calgary's Advisory Committee on Accessibility.
As the MLA for Calgary's urban core, Kent has focused his efforts on fighting crime, increasing access to affordable housing, and protecting our environment. He also believes we need to manage Albertan's hard-earned tax dollars wisely and responsibly in these uncertain economic times. Kent is the Shadow Minister of Justice, Attorney General, Solicitor General, Public Security, and Sustainable Resource Development in the Alberta Liberal Caucus.
Kent lives in downtown Calgary and enjoys spending time with his nephews Marshall and Jackson.
